Forsaken (Frontier Reapers MC Book 3) Page 5
Faye watched as I climbed in behind her, pulling the curtain closed. For a moment we looked at each other, and I waited for her to kick me out, to tell me to leave.
I would, but it would have been damn hard to do so. I wasn’t going to take her by force, nor was I going to demand sex for saving her life.
No, this was going to be consensual or not at all.
“Why?” she asked after a moment, her eyes searching mine.
“Hell, I don’t know,” I answered honestly. “It just… I needed to be here.”
She gave a little nod and stepped forward, her hand sliding over my chest, tracing my tattoos. They had been more of a dare than actually meaning anything, swirling across my chest and down my shoulders before crossing over my back. Being the youngest, I was out to show my brothers I could do it better than they could ever think of doing, even with tats.
“It’s beautiful,” she murmured, the steady stream of water rolling down her shoulder and the gentle slope of her breast.
I could tell there was something different about her, something that had me a bit unsettled. I waited for her sly smile, but she seemed shyer than I had ever seen her.
Taking my own hand, I brought it up and cupped her breast, my fingers rolling her taunt nipple.
“The same could be said of this.”
She gasped and arched against me, her own hands sliding up my chest to grip my shoulders. I bent my head and tugged on her nipple with my teeth, the white-hot shot of need and want hitting me straight in the gut.
I needed this.
Devouring her breast, I suckled until she was clutching my shoulders tightly.
“Yes,” she breathed as I took my hand and wandered down her body, until I found the hot, wet center I was looking for.
When I touched her hard clit, she jumped, biting on my shoulder with her teeth. A shot of pure primal need to own her shot through me, and I removed my mouth from her breast, my other hand finding her hip.
“Turn around.”
Faye stepped back and did as I instructed, showing me her pert ass as she pressed against the wall.
“Like this?”
I growled and covered her body with my own, sliding my hands up to cup her breasts. My cock was pressing insistently at her back, but I wasn’t ready to take her.
Not yet.
Chapter 11
Faye
Jaxon was killing me.
I bit back a moan as his hand slipped down between my legs again, rubbing against my aching clit. His other hand was tweaking my nipple, and I could feel the pressure of an orgasm start to build, surprising me.
I was usually the one taking over during sex, wanting to dominate the man and show him a few things.
But right now, I just didn’t care what he did to me. I wanted Jaxon Morrison, badly.
“You like that?” he growled in my ear, pressing his lips on the side of my neck and sucking hard.
“Y-yes,” I said, arching against his hard body.
I could feel his own need pressing against my back, and my knees weakened as I thought about his hard length inside me. I was soaking wet and ready, but he was relentless with his fingers, increasing his pressure until I shattered, my vision blurring slightly. The crest of release shook my body, and I gasped, closing my eyes as I rode his fingers, urging him to give me more.
The steady stream of water ran down the front of my body, amping up the heat as Jaxon removed his hands and pushed me forward, until I was bracing myself against the wall, my ass to him.
“You want this, don’t you?” he asked, his voice rough.
“I do,” I gasped, feeling his cock probe my wet entrance. “I want your cock.”
He made some unintelligible noise and pushed inside me, filling me to the core. I whimpered as I stretched to accommodate his size, pressing against his intrusion. Shit he was larger than I had anticipated.
His hands gripped my hips and guided me to the hilt, holding me in place while I grew accustomed to the feel of him.
“You feel so good,” he said as I angled my back, my hands pressed against the cold tile. “So fucking good.”
“Fuck me,” I begged, rotating my hips until he moved, slamming into me.
I screamed as another orgasm took hold, the sound of our bodies hitting together rising above the water stream. Jaxon’s hands dug into my skin, but I barely felt it, matching his furious pace as he pounded into me.
“Shit,” he groaned as I angled my ass to allow him more access. “I’m about to explode.”
I didn’t answer, pushing against him until I felt him let go, roaring as he came inside me. My legs threatened to give out under his weight, but I pushed through, joining in his cries as one last wave crashed over me.
For a moment, I stood there, my heart beating rapidly in my chest. My body felt as if it had been turned inside out, boneless even, and I tried to remember the last time I had experienced such body-numbing sex.
It had been a long, long time.
Eventually Jaxon backed out, and I felt the cold stream of water hit my back, causing me to yelp.
“Sorry,” he chuckled as I turned around, grabbing the knobs to cut off the water. “I guess we drained the tank.”
“In more ways than one,” I said saucily, eyeing his now limp cock.
He laughed, and I was warmed by the sound, noting how much younger he looked when he laughed. A peculiar feeling shot through my chest, and I swallowed hard against it, my heart beating rapidly as I met his gaze.
Dammit, I was falling for him. It was more than just the sex. It was the way he had stood up for me in front of his brother, the socks he had brought with my comfort in mind.
This could not be happening.
Jaxon’s eyes drifted down my body, and I felt my stomach tighten as I saw the familiar heat reflected there. We weren’t done, but the more I allowed this to go on, the more I was going to lose myself in him, in my supposed enemy.
But no man had ever done the things he had done for me in one day and had certainly not curled my toes with shower sex. It was too late. I was already losing myself.
He slid a hand through his wet hair, and I caught the faintest blush on his cheeks. Was he just as confused as I was? He had to be. This clearly wasn’t what was supposed to happen.
“I’m not going to say I’m sorry.”
“I don’t want you to,” I answered honestly, giving him a smile. A real smile at that. “But I hope it’s not the last time either.”
His eyes bored into mine.
“Hell, no it’s not the last time.”

After finally climbing out of the shower, Jaxon found me some clothes to throw on, some that were clearly more for a woman than the ones I had been wearing, and I joined him in the kitchen. The living room was warm from the fire while the rain still pelted the windows outside, and for a moment I could forget what was truly going on there. This was my kind of living, something simple and cozy, with a damn fine man standing at the stove, shirtless, as he prepared something to eat.
“Can I help?” I asked, my bare feet making very little noise on the wood floor.
“I’m just about done,” Jaxon replied. “I hope that grilled cheese and soup is okay.”
“It’s great,” I answered, taking a seat on one of the bar stools near the counter. “Thanks.”
He grinned, flipping the sandwich in the pan easily, and I nearly forgot to breathe.
“I confess, my cooking skills are limited to pretty much this. I was never home much to learn how to cook anything decent.”
“Are you and your brothers so different?” I asked, wanting to learn more about the man who had rocked my world, literally.
He nodded, sliding the sandwich on the waiting plate.
“We are. Brendan is like our dad, cautious with every damn thing. Colby… well, he’s a thinker.”
“And you?”
He slid the plate toward me, his eyes twinkling with hidden laughter.
“I’m the rebel of the family. Kind of comes with being the youngest, I think.”
I took in his drool-worthy body, the way that his tattoos seemed to cradle his chest, and licked my lips. I wanted to taste this rebel, this man who was taking my feet out from underneath me.
More importantly, I didn’t want to leave.
Standing, I started toward him, thinking about round two, when his cell phone cut through the air. Jaxon turned and picked it up from the counter, his eyes on me as he held it up to his ear.
“What?”
I leaned against the counter, watching as he listened to the other end, his face growing pale and losing its humor by each passing second. Something was seriously wrong.
“I told him. I know. It’s not my… he wouldn’t let me go! I’m sorry, fuck, how is he? Let me come. What? Shit no Laur… Come on, he’s my brother!”
I flinched at the anguish in his voice and knew it had something to do with Brendan. Something very bad.
“Fine. Yes, I can get someone to watch her. Just, tell him to hang on okay? I’m fucking sorry.”
I heard the click on the other end, and Jaxon removed the phone from his ear, staring at it with his jaw clenched. I hesitated to ask what was wrong, the barely restrained emotion on Jaxon’s face scaring the hell out of me.
“I…”
He held up his hand, his eyes cold as he stared at me. Whatever we had experienced, it was gone. I felt the cold seep into my soul, replacing the beginnings of the happiness that had been there.
“Don’t. Just leave me the hell alone.”
I watched as he walked off, his hand clenched around the phone, and felt the tears prick my eyes.
I hated myself.
Chapter 12
Jaxon
I don’t know how I made it to the hospital. Swinging the truck into the parking lot, I climbed out and ignored the cold rain falling as I raced inside, feeling nauseous at what I might find. Laura had told me not to come, but I couldn’t stay away, not from Brendan.
I ignored the woman at the desk who was yelling at me for running down the hall, seeing it lined with the brotherhood clad in their black vests and ready for a fight. I slowed as I turned the corner, finding the room number that Laura had given me. Intensive Care. That never was good.
Cautiously, I entered the room, spying Laura standing beside the bed. Her face was etched in grief, her stomach swelling with my first niece or nephew that potentially would never meet their father.
That shit was never going to happen. Brendan was a fighter. He would pull through this.
But the shape lying in the bed did not look like the president of the Frontier Reapers at all. Tubes and lines ran from him, the beeping of his heart monitor coupled with the hiss of the ventilator that was hooked to the tube in his mouth. A large bandage covered half his chest, with another covering his left arm from elbow to wrist.
Swallowing my emotions, I approached the bed.
“What happened?”
Laura didn’t even look in my direction.
“He went to meet Blackwood. I begged him not to go, but he grinned and told me everything was going to be fine. The men with him said that Brendan never saw the gun Hector was holding, and by the time he did it was too late. Hector got off two shots before all hell broke loose.”
My breath shuddered in my chest as I thought about how fucking scared Brendan had to be when the first shot hit him. No doubt he was thinking about the woman beside him and the unborn kid he hadn’t met. My brother had everything to live for.
It should have been me.
“I’m sorry Laura.”
She rubbed her thumb over Brendan’s hand, as if she was afraid to let him go.
“Please, don’t Jax. I don’t want to hear it. I want this over with. I want this life done.”
Her voice cracked, and I felt tears crowd my own eyes. She was scared, upset, and pissed off. All the things I would have expected from her. Laura loved my brother with everything she had, and I knew her world was crashing down around her. I wanted to comfort her, but I didn’t know how.
“Tell me what to do.”
She sighed as she looked up at me, her eyes red rimmed from crying.
“Is this really worth it? Tell me, Jax. What if he hadn’t made it? What would we do then? This isn’t about getting revenge. This is our reality, my livelihood laying in this damn bed, and all those men can do out there is talk about revenge! That is not going to bring Brendan any closer to getting better, nor it is going to help our child grow up without having to worry about his or her life being taken over by this senseless shit!”
I crossed the room and took her into my arms, holding onto her when she tried to pull away. She fought a few more seconds before collapsing against me, her tears seeping into my shirt. I ran a hand up and down her spine as I kept my eyes on my brother, my jaw set. Laura was right on all accounts. We wanted revenge and desperately. The guys in the hall were waiting for me to make the decision, now that Brendan would be out of commission for a while. I was next in line, and it was my call, whatever I wanted to do.
My first thoughts were to hunt down the fuckers and kill every last one until we found Hector. But if I gave that order, we would be at war. There would be no peace until one of us was dead. Plus, Brendan had tried to work out the peace between the two clubs and nearly paid for it with his life. I had to be there for him, for Laura and the rest of the club.
“I will make this right,” I finally said as Laura’s sobs quieted. “Don’t worry.”
She pulled back and wiped her eyes, looking up at me.
“Don’t get yourself killed in the process. Brendan is going to need his brother.”
I shifted my stance, looking at Brendan.
“Have you called Colby?”
“I called Veronica,” Laura answered, wrapping her arms around her midsection, cradling her stomach. “She said Colby wants to come back home, but I told him no.”
“Good,” I breathed.
Colby wasn’t needed here.
“What about your girl?”
I glanced at Laura.
“What?”
She gave a knowing look.
“Brendan told me you have it hot for the girl that you are guarding. He didn’t tell me who she was though.”
I swallowed, thinking about Faye and the shower, which seemed like hours ago.
“I don’t have it hot for her.”
“Sure, you don’t,” Laura let out a laugh, the sound dying as soon as she realized what she had done and where she was at. “God, when did this all get screwed up, Jax?”
I didn’t know, but I was going to fix it.
“Get some rest, Laura. You got a baby to think about.”
She nodded, and I headed to the door.
“I will make sure you have some guys stay with you. If you need me at all...”
“I know where to find you,” she finished, shooing me out the room.
I walked out and looked at the first three club members that were waiting there.
“No one other than our family goes in that room. I don’t fucking care, stop every damn person, but if anything happens to my brother, I will hold you personally accountable.”
“You got it boss,” they said, nodding.
I gave them a look and motioned for the rest to follow me, giving orders as we walked.
“Go get some intel on where Hector is hiding. Let him know I am looking for his ass for what he did to my brother. We will have a meeting.”
“Got it,” a few of them said, peeling off to parts unknown.
Two of the members followed me into the freezing rain and quickly left me when they saw I wasn’t giving any other instructions. As badly as I wanted to send them to start bringing in the Reapers, I knew it wouldn’t be what Brendan would want.
No, I was going to lay low, wait to see where Hector was at, and then plan my revenge. Hector would be expecting me to go off tilt and come after his ass, but not doing that would make
him nervous, and he would make a mistake. It was only a matter of time.
I climbed in the truck and started it up, looking up at the hospital. Damn Brendan. He had nearly gotten himself killed while I was sleeping with the enemy.
Well sleeping wasn’t the correct term to us. Fucking was more like it, and Faye really wasn’t the enemy. She had been screwed over by attempting to reconnect with her father at the worst time really. I saw her as another pawn in Hector’s cruel game of life.
